🌍 Mission and values

The Scuola Popolare di Scacchi works in Rome with the aim of spread the knowledge of the game of chess,, promoting at the same time socialization, inclusion and personal growth. Chess is proposed not only as a sport of the mind, but also as a an educational and a relational tool.

🧑🏫 Teacher

The School operates permanently:

  • Qualified instructors registered in the Register of the The Italian Chess federation (FSI)
  • Educators And Recreational Sports recognized by CSEN and/or UISP

In the time they have collaborated with the School many players holders of national and international importanceincluding: GM Shytaj, MI Aghayev, MI Tomescu, MI Seletsky, MI Piscopo, M° FIDE Gromovs, M° Della Corte

👥 Activity and participation

In the last 7 years, more than 800 players they have embarked on a path continued in the practice of chess, thanks to the activities of the School. Each year we offer:

  • Stable courses for all ages and levelsfrom kids to adults, from beginners to players classified
  • Activities in the schools of every order and degree, with projects curricular and extra-curricular
  • Participation in competitions, including the The Italian team championshipwith a team formed by students and instructors
  • Support of young talent, accompanying them to the Youth Championship of the Individual on the whole national territory

📚 Educational material

The School produces and distributes each year handouts teaching self-produced on technical topics and theoretical, accessible free of charge to all the students. A practical way to continue to study out the course, materials, specially tailored for the various levels.

The Scuola Popolare di Scacchi it is much more of a learning center is a the living community and the openwhere you grow together through the game, the competition and the passion for chess.

ASD Scuola popolare di scacchi

The Chess Section of the historic ASD Polisportiva Popolare Roma 6 Villa Gordiani starts 2007by providing young athletes the opportunity to associate the practice of chess to the subjects of sports; in 2009, three friends and lovers of the Noble Game: Ivano, Massimo and Paolo refound from the base to the section of chess that takes the name ASD Scuola Popolare di Scacchi.
The ASD Scuola Popolare di Scacchi is characterized among the facilities of quality, currently 5-6 in the whole of Rome and the Province, focusing on the disclosure and practice of the game of chess, offering courses, seminars, and days of free play, ensuring the presence and cooperation of players qualified to the international level.

The Members of the Club, in front of a modest annual fee is valid from September to the following August:

  • have access to the premises for free play, take advantage of the library and of the materials copntenuti in the reserved section of the site;
  • participate in free of charge to social tournaments a long time that follow in the course of the year, usually on the Monday afternoon;
  • participating in the championships in the team of the circuit FSI, CSEN, and UISPcurrently we have a team that play in serie B and in serie C. In the Promotion series, we organise typically at least a couple of teams (depends on the number of Members who wish to participate)

In the Federal Council of the Italian Chess Federation (Sports Discipline Associated with the C. O. N. I.) held in Milan on 28 March 2015 the school was admitted into the association of Schools of Chess of 1° and 2° level. The seal of the federal represents the recognition of the work of the goodness of the programs and the quality of services provided.
The Taxpayer, In Solidarityon the 1st of December 2020, the Popular School of Chess has been recognized contributor solidarity within the meaning of DL Cura Italia (art. 71 DL 18/2020).
